Has anyone done this? I imagine it would be necessary to include a pier-type extension like the one Orion make - raises it by 8-9 inches to let the CWs clear the tripod legs. But mounting an EQ6 on a pier extension and still be able to do azimuth adjustments for polar alignment is what has me a bit stuck. Any thoughts - preferably with engineering drawings
