May I ask why you use a bit.ly-URL?
I won't click on a link if I can't verify the target first. As IT-Professional, I try to educate normal users to grow such an awareness, too: don't click on a link if you don't know where it leads to. Many problems arise from uneducated users who do that.
One way to raise awareness is to never spread shortened URLs so that people don't get used to them [from trusted sources] in the first place and then forget to check all others, too.
