Looks nice, but I wouldn't pick it over the 50D. The one problem I've had with my 350D, which has taken my photography capabilities down significantly from film days, is the viewfinder image size. My 350D is 0.8x mag, this 500D is 0.87x, where as the 50D and old film cameras I used are 0.95x. I will never buy another camera with a view finder smaller than 0.9x, it's just too hard to manually focus and get a feel for the image. It's like looking down a drain pipe plossle.
