Since there is literally near zero dark current in my 15-minute subs, currently I have switched to only using a super bias for calibrating flats and lights. In this way I do not introduce any noise to my lights (except for the noise from flats) and super bias removes fixed signal introduced by the camera, however small it is. Dithering and/or bad pixel map (cosmetic correction) takes care of hot pixels.
Having said that, this method may be insufficient for images taken with some cameras, that may benefit from using darks.
