Something to remember Guys,
More pixels on the same size chip = smaller pixels = less light gathering ability. Being the new owner of a 40D and the past owner of a 350D the only real noticable diference is a great utility on the software disk which allows complete control of the camera, including Bulb exposure comtrol from your computer via USB. The live view function is only really useful on bright subjects such as the moon. on small star fields it's use is very limited. The 3" LCD is great for me with failing/aging eyesight for reviewing images. The 40D has a magnesium body unlike the 350D plastic body but it is also much bigger and heavier.

Love them both but to me the real selling point is the utility with the 40D.
