I've been doing this for years since Win2000 not wanting to lose any programs not compatible with software upgrades . It's quite easy to set up and there are many online tutorials that will guide through the process.
I've always struggled with the win 8/10 operating systems and still running win 7 pro. My desktop pc and laptop will eventually need upgrading and I dread the thought of win 10 being the only way to go
