Years ago there was a belief that you bought KNOWN makes and names, and the quality would be better, (except in the UK where we had Grundig etc that was garbage, sorry but most things made in the UK appear lesser quality, at at 62 I speak from experience).

There was also a time when people said Japanese rubbish I wouldn't touch it (in the 60s)

As a photographer I buy Godox, and many unknown brands and for the price the quality is great.

I have had expensive toasters that lasted a year and £5 ones that lasted 5,
