Progress?

Hi All,

I recently posted yet another M83 picture. I have had three goes at this target over the last five years using varied gear under various circumstances.

First go was in May 2006 using an ED80 as an imaging scope, piggybacked on an 8"LX200GPS, ST-7XME camera, self guided. I had to set up the scope and wedge each night in the driveway.

Next was last year using a Meade 10" RCX400 on a wedge and permanently mounted in an observatory. Camera was ST-10XME, self guided and AO8. Much easier to get data over several nights with an observatory.

Lastly there is last nights offering, GSO 8" RC, ST-10XME (different camera), with AOL and MOAG, but still guided using the internal guide chip, on a Losmandy G11 mount in the observatory.

Of course over the intervening five years I may have learned a trick or two in the processing as well...

Cheers
Stuart
