Dougs Canon 400 mm 5.6 looks pretty good for around $1300 or the Canon 200mm 2.8 at about $900.

after much investigation, I've determined that the Canon lens and SBIG won't work - not enough back focus sadly. I'm out by about 9mm.

Will take a look at the TMB.
