Ngc253 and Ngc288

Well I had a go last night here in Melbourne at getting NGC 253 and NGC 288 in the same frame with my SW Esprit 100. All went well accept I had to ditch quite a few of my unguided subs due to Periodic Error. I ended up with 20 x 1 min subs @ 800 iso with the Canon 550d unfiltered. It was a balmy night and the scope was almost vertical so I was lying on my back in the driveway in shorts and T shirt looking up at the LCD screen trying to center the objects in the frame, taking a shot, viewing it and adjusting it's position until I was happy with it. When photographing objects this high I wish I had a variable screen on the camera!

Fortunately, it was worth the effort and I am fairly pleased with the result.
