x185 27' x247 20'

IC 1119 Multi-Galaxy Sys *
RA: 15h 25m 44.8s Dec: -03° 39' 29"
Mag: 15.3 S.B.: --- B-V: --- Size: 0.5'x0.5' Class: S
P.A.: --- Inclination: --- R.V.: --- Source: PGC *

This eg is near the (13th mag) W point of an Eq Tri of mag 12, 13 & 14 *s about 5' a side. Very, very faint and tiny, difficult. Very, very LSB threshold mag spot about 15" diameter no structure.

NGC 5931 (IC 1122) Galaxy *
RA: 15h 29m 29.6s Dec: +07° 34' 23"
Mag: 15.0 S.B.: --- B-V: --- Size: 0.9'x0.5'Class: S0
P.A.: 40 Inclination: --- R.V.: --- Source: PGC *

This is a very, very small and faint eg immediately E of a mag 12.5 *. Small round halo about 30" diameter, quite to very faint growing broadly and slightly to centre without zones or core.

P.A.: 117 Inclination: --- R.V.: +1254 Source: RC3 *

This is a very small mod faint elong eg in about PA 120 in a very blank field -- few stars at all. Probably about 50" x 30" fat lens-shaped in PA 120, LSB outer halo rising slightly to centre where there is a small mod brighter spot-type core/nucleus.

P.A.: 55 Inclination: 6 R.V.: +1271 Source: RC3 *

This eg is in PA 45 in a pretty blank field and has on axis to the SW a mag 13.5 * exactly at the tip. Very thin sliver of gossamer, 2.5' x 10"? wide grows broadly and weakly to the centre without zones, core or apparent nucleus.

See NGC/IC:

NGC 3531 = NGC 3526. Holden misidentified the star he noticed 46.5 seconds preceding the galaxy. When the correct star is used (BD +7 2412, not 2413 as Holden wrote), his position falls close to that of NGC 3526 = Marth 215. The descriptions are virtually identical, and Holden notes the star just southwest of the galaxy.

Spitaler was the first to suggest the identity. He found IC 670 near Holden's position, but that is fainter and does not agree with either of the earlier descriptions, so Spitaler -- correctly -- called I670 a "nova." - Dr. Harold G. Corwin, Jr.

This is a small and pretty faint slightly elong eg in PA 0 with a mag 15 * next to the core, just E of the flank and off the halo. 50" x 20" in PA 0, the outer halo is very LSB and faint with a slightly brighter round core about 15" diameter with an occasionally visible stellaring dead centre.

This eg forms the RA of a RA Tri with two 9th mag *s 6' N and E. These are both tiny faint egs that don't have any stars close to them. -67 is the brighter and larger. -67 is 20" dia, round growing slightly to centre where there is a tiny faint spot core/nucleus. -12 is a little to it's NE as an almost stellar spot of LSB gossamer growing in brightness slightly to centre.

There are four tiny, tiny spots of mist here, one somewhat brighter than the other 3. -70 is by some margin the easiest to see, the other 3 basically the same in appearance and size. -70 is about 30" diameter growing broadly and slightly to centre without zones or nucleus. Faint and quite LSB.

the other 3 are to the NE, S and SE within 2'. The one to the NE is -74. Are all about 15" diameter intermittently visible spots of gossamer, no structure. Very, very faint.

This eg seems fainter than shown on the DSS and took a bit of time to pick-up in the field. In PA 0. E by 2' is a mag 13 *. Small, very faint and elong patch with a *ar nucleus at about mag 15. Seems to be about 40" x 10 with very faint outer halo, slightly brighter short streak-like core containing v/faint *ar nucleus.

-98 in the centre of this group is the brightest but is still pretty faint, beside a couple of mag 14 *s. Round, small, about 50" diameter growing broadly and slightly to centre from indefinite edges. At centre is a small round 5"-odd dia mod brighter core zone. SB nr centre is not bad. Mag 14 * on the edge of the halo at the N.

-92 is almost edge on spiral. Very, very faint thin lens shaped patch of gossamer. Difficult to gauge size. 1.5' x 20" brightening weakly to centre.

-601 is a very tiny spot of gossamer, almost *ar 12 NE of -98. Only 10-15" diameter, extremely LSB no structure visible. 5' N of -601 is MCG +3 29-16 which is almost exactly the same, possibly a smidgin brighter and higher in SB.

-09 is the dominant eg of these three, which is fairly small, fairly faint eg with a mag 14.5 * just off the S edge of the halo and a more distant one to the W 1.5'. Small, diffuse and weak edged 1' diameter, round rising slightly and broadly to centre where there is a slightly brighter spot-type core-nucleus.

-12 is E by 5', and is somewhat fainter and has lower SB, about 20" diameter rising weakly to centre and has no central spot. Very, very faint. Needs concentration.

-44 is < 2' N of -09 as a miniscule spot of gossamer, intermittently visible, almost *ar extremely LSB. Hardly to be seen. Needs concentration.

This is a very, very faint very small to tiny eg in a very blank field. If you were trying to look for this without the aid of Argo Navis or other setting circles -- good luck. Small, faint tri of mag 14-15 *s NE'. Only 20-odd arc-secs diameter, round very LSB, hardly to be seen with no core or nucleus.

-15 is 5' S of a mag 12 *. Not hard to see, -15 is the brighter of the two and is slightly elong in about PA 45, 40" x 30" grows broadly and slightly to the centre which is somewhat brighter. -18 is 6' NE.

This eg forms a nice almost RA tri with mags 10 & 11 *s to the SE and NE 6' & 8' away. Not hard to see, round 40" diameter, mod LSB. Grows broadly and mod to centre and at centre is a slightly brighter small zone.

This is a very small eg a few arcmins to the SW of a small, faint pair mags 12 & 14 about 15-20". Small, round about 30" diameter, very LSB grows broadly and slightly to the centre with no zones, core or nucleus apparent.
