i got into AP with my Canon 1000D, and while its true to say that for terrestrial photography its not as good as its more upmarket siblings, for AP work its great, the live view is a great boost, and it takes great images, another plus point of it thats often overlooked, is the weight.
It weighs about as much as a small hamster called Gerald. and is half the weight of its moer obese cousins
