That is a shame.
I use a very old Win 7 for DSS and can import raw files straight from the camera which recognises all the file info. Makes life a lot easier.
Maybe if you have an old computer laying around it would work.

Having laboriously converted all the RAW files into TIFF, was then able to stack and get something to play with in Photoshop Essentials.
Will put result up after reducing to thumbnail.
