Depending on how much you want to spend, ultra-cheap and adequate, second hand 1000D 12 bit, 40D and 450D 14bit. Very easy to modify as well. Cheapest DIY mod, remove all factory filters and use an Astronomik UV/IR clip-in filter. Auto focus tested and works on 1000D. Can be used for IR as well.
