300 seconds is a very short exposure for Ha. That may be hampering getting rid of noise. Dithering if you aren't already doing that, also helps a lot lowering noise in Ha.

Thanks Greg. Yeah I'm usually always dithering but lately with my mount problems I had to stay as close to the guidestar as I could for how long as it would permit, only briefly pausing the guider to download the subs. I've just received the new worm couplings so once I've serviced the mount I'll be back in business. More than 5min on this and I think I'd burn the stars in the central cluster. There's a lot of them, they're tightly packed and difficult to separate.
