Ah yes the Sbig has the on board guide chip that would make it a better choice in that regard. But two other points to note are the Qhy8 is a 6megapixel camera with the same sensor as the Nikon D40/D50. The Kodak chip is just under 2mp with slightly bigger pixel count.
Sbig support is better they are not reliant on a single person.
The Qhy2pro i think is also 2mp sensor might be a better one to compare with. But i think this is a mono camera. And the Qhy2 is the color version at 3.3mp but much smaller pixels around 3um.
Also the Sbig is USB 1.1 and Qhy are using USB 2.0.
