I only have a computer with the remote telescope - every few nights I will use 7Zip for compressing all the image files and Filezilla for SFTP from remote to my home NAS.
Compression is excellent within 7zip and I can break up the resulting file into 700mb chunks for ease of recovery if anything becomes corrupt (not that it ever has!)
The site connection is 4G and with a Telstra 100GB plan there is plenty of data to play with there, never the less I always compress it before sending offsite.
