That’s unusual I’ve never heard of a failed cable before

Did you install the driver for the Virtual Com Port from the FTDI site.You have to select the one that corresponds to your laptops operating system ( windows 10 ) Refer to FTDI application note AN _396 titled FTDI Drvers Installation Guide for Windows 10

Remember maximum length on USB is 5 metres. Did you use a USB extension lead or just the USB2EQ5 cable on its own

Can’t think of anything else ? If the FTDI driver is installed you should see the virtual com port in Device manager under ports - USB serial port (COM3)

Shouldn’t even have to touch the EQMOD toolbox

Just checking your going straight to the mount ( hand controller unplugged and removed )
