Really it depends on what you're after. IR processing is a personal thing. Some people want colour, some want black and white, some want a strong effect some not so much.
Me personally I like a strong effect and black and white. I tried the Hoya R72 filter and wasn't pleased with the results. I wanted even more. The Hoya RM90 ended up being my favourite filter and produces an insane IR effect.
