I use a 1000D with a FULL full mod, both filters removed, for Spectroscopy.
Works well for me, but you will loose the automatic focusing.
It will not infinity focus with standard camera lenses unless you add a CLR (clear) clip-in filter.
Other than that, no other issues..
You have similar issues with the standard mod but the remaining filter still acts as a UV-IR cut filter. The enhancement of the Ha sensitivity is significant going from around 20% to 80%
