Another part of the puzzle:

With thanks to Range and Studio 2047 in Shanghai with their CNC machines and skills, the scope cradle is now a reality and on its way to OZ to join the other bits and pieces on my table...

The cradle is fitted with dual pivot stainless steel hinges, stainless button head socket screws and all stainless fixings to secure the two TSAs exactly 170mm apart and parallel on a 'D' sized 220mm custom dovetail bar.

The top tube is there to keep the clamps under control as well as providing a suitable handle for carrying the beast. The domed end cap of the handle tube with later be drilled to take a 12mm ø laser module powered by AA batteries inside the handle and triggered by a remote momentary switch..... It will be a green beam of undisclosed mW.... ( and yes they are legal to use in that config in the ACT )

To keep the dreaded dew away, a DewBuster with dual OTA heaters, a bino-pair heater strap and a ' laser warmer' will be powered by a 16Ah LiFePo 'Golf-Cart' pack....
