Hi Gavan. You can use a DSLR, Webcam, DMK, G-Star, DSI, LPI, SBIG in fact just about any camera you want. However the proof of the pudding is in the eating. By far the best results will be achieved using a mono camera where you can use the full resolution of every pixel. Using a colour camera you will only be recording in the red pixels (1/4 of the chip though there will probably be some leakage to neighbouring pixels). The DMKs and G-Star would be a good starting area, though a ToUcam and other webcam style cameras will work because of a natural 'dithering' movement of the sun due to seeing, ie you will get better resolution due to the movement of the sun than if the sun were perfectly still.
