Have you taken any prime focus Moon images with the D50?
Have you tried piggyback with the D50?
I just got a Philips SPC900NC for $89 from MSY (
www.msy.com.au). If you attach the appropriate Mogg adapter (
www.moggadapters.com.au) for $29 plus $9 postage then you have a planetary webcam setup for $127.
This is a low cost way to start and can be used for autoguiding at a later time if better imaging equipment is purchased.
I've taken some images of Mars and Saturn with this webcam and am very happy with the results for the cost.
You already have a barlow to get more image scale on the planets with the webcam
