As one might have guessed these binoculars are not for handholding in the dark..... so here is the GoTo version of the mounting system that will be used until I get a chance to build a sufficient Fork mount.
The Takahashi EM400 Tripod with an adapter by Kokusai Kohki and the AZ-EQ6GT and to balance the little binoculars, a Robin Casady 10.5kg Stainless counterweight (with a bronze bushing I turned for it recently) will be needed to keep the project on three legs...
The plan for the fork mount is to use 10K tic encoders and the beautiful Nexus DSC.... for a lighter weight push to option...
The glorious Tak EM400 tripod will hold up to 450KG
but weighs in at a svelte 16.6KG with the adapter fitted
