yeah, it is a massive complex.

I use the Microsoft World wide telescope to browse around, its amazing cause it has hi res images for the entire north and south skies and you can zoom in.

install the client, change the mode to "sky" at the bottom, the "Digitized sky survey" shows hi-res images.

it also has a neat feature to project it to a hemispherical reflector and create your own planetarium.
