Sydney, LP filters and CCD Imaging?

Hoping someone here can advise.

I am making the switch to CCD imaging, mono cos it looks fun and we all like a challenge, but I live in light filled burbs.

The imaging train I have when talking to suppliers indicates that its not really a goer to hang 2 kilos'of CCD imaging equipment (Camera and FW) on to effectively the thread of a CLS Filter, which in turn connects to a SW Focal reducer/corrector on my lowly but great ED100.

I have little experience of Mono imaging but from what I recall, before those heady days of discovering LP filters, it was possible to manage LP through post processing when I started with the Canon.

Not knowing much about Mono, I take it that luminence filters and RGB filters wont contribute much to reducing LP?

Anyone got any handy tips here or do I just handle this through focussing on targets high in the sky and post processing?

Appreciate your thoughts.
