Neil,
if you're just starting out in spectroscopy, I'd recommend starting your journey with a transmission grating...
The Star Analyser gratings (100 and 200 l/mm) are available from Bintel and can be used with almost any telescope/ camera lens/ CCD

Later, you may wish to consider moving up to the serious stuff - slit spectroscopy. Unfortunately there is only a local supplier for the Baader DADOS instrument. The popular Spectra-L200 and Shelyak instruments must be purchased in Europe and shipped to Oz.
