So, finally took the plunge and got an EQ6 for the 8" newt I bought off a member here - which has had the primary mirror moved up the tube. Set it all up on the weekend for a test run.

I managed to get the DSLR in focus with a x2 barlow (2") but couldn't find focus with the x5 powermate.

For x2 I had camera, t-ring, short ext barrel, barlow and longer extension tube

Trying the x5 I unscrewed the bottom of the powermate and went straight from t-ring to it and then various combinations of extension tubes without any luck.

Any thoughts?
