Granted you reputation on processing I guess that the lack of these stars in your image is due to the HA capture. Is this the case?

My
multi filter image of this area a few years back barely shows those stars. The NB data has suppressed those stars. The only reason why I can see the stars is because I used RGB stars over the top of the NB data. A Ha frame on its own would well suppress some of the less bright stars in certain parts of the field.
