Thanks, guys for the nice comments. I didn't get technical because I am not a technician when it comes to mirror optics etc. As someone who has been looking through scopes since 1967 though, I think I can offer what the scope "feels" like. And this scope, for its price, "feels" great. I have noticed that Meade cop quite a hiding on Cloudy Nights from time to time. So much so that when I bought the LX200R THEN read the comments on CN, I nearly had a panic attack that I'd bought an absolute dud. But it was superb so I don't know what the yanks are on about some times. To my viewing eye this scope is the best thing I've had. The sheer "volume" of light that it gathers offsets any idiosyncracies that I can see, though Steve is right aboutthe slight astigmatism. But it sure flogs Galileo's scope for power - and look what he discovered!
