but the noise comparison there between 5D II and III shows less difference than I'd expected based on other photographs shown previously.

Yep, I like his reviews too - they tend to match my personal experience quite closely. It's very interesting to see that under strict, controlled conditions with both the 5DmkII and mkIII the actual high ISO improvement only looks to be about 2/3 of a stop.
That being said, the thought of so many cross-type and dual cross-type AF sensors has me drooling
When shooting at f/1.2, I find that only the 5DmkII's centre AF point is usable... it's actually faster for me to focus using the centre point, recompose, and shoot 3 frames with focus bracketing than it is to wait for a peripheral focus sensor to do its thing
