I have thought about giving it a go again for nostalgia reasons. With auto guiders 1 hr subs would not be an issue, much easier than hand guiding with an illuminated recticle eyepiece.
I still have my old SLR from the film days. I use the old lenses with the DSLR for wide field, much better than the stock plastic ones that come in the camera package.
