Looong ago I did - a few eclipses, comets, moon/planets through a C8, a few DSO using a 6”f/5, and some widefields piggyback on top of scope... much of it on ektachrome and some black & white...

... but there’s no going back, imho film is well and truly dead. Long guiding for each shot makes significant demands on the scope and mount... reciprocity failure...

I think it might be a worthwhile experience for kids to play with to learn the basics of the the chemistry involved from taking an image to printing it, but not for anything serious.
