Hi Ben,
I generally register all the master stacks for each filter and the RGB stars, then remove the NB stars from each filter stack with Annies Astro Actions > Star Removal - or Straton.
Then simply layer up & colour the starless masters > with the RGB stars on top using Photoshop >lighten mode.
