Ah if you have the 40D then stick with it, the extra MP don't add extra FOV so I'd seriously consider the superb 5D, it is an exceptional camera.
It's still one of the best Canon prosumer models they've made even though it's 3 years old.
The 5D Mk II will be better of course but at around $4k it has to be.
