Hey thanks Peter! I have bought the little scope for travels now, so the big one is relinquished to home sessions. As you say, RGB is still possible with a bit more effort (albeit for such a bright object I didn't have to work too hard).

Thanks! Sometimes the simple images are nice to knock out. I sometimes try to avoid the big ones and go for the obscure, but it was nice to hit the big ones for once, and I hadn't imaged it in years.

It's always a source of amazement just how much stuff there is in the universe.

At a really good dark site around the next few months the Milky Way roars overhead and is a reminder of this as well.

How do you like your QHY 268m Pro?

Greg.
I am loving the QHY 268m, it seems very well matched to my 2 focal lengths of 360 and 1200mm. Tradition would say at 1200mm I'm too over sampled, but I can tell you first hand, from the QHY9, which had better sampling but worse full well depth and noise, its chalk and cheese. Love the OAG, Love the bolt through attachment system, no sag, no threads to bind up, its a really compelling system.
