If Astrophotography is your aim, you would be better off going for the 450D, 1000D or 40D all of which have live focus. The 1000D is quite inexpensive and apparently can be modded successfully for greater sensitivity to HA by replacing the Low Pass Filter. The 450D/100D will be lighter than the 20/30/40/50D bodies if weight is a consideration.
If your budget is tight you could buy second hand, Canon cameras, both modded and unmodded, appear regularly in the Icetrade area.
