What are you shooting in Marc? White light, CaK or Ha? In any of them try to look for a sunspot and just live view or view it live on screen with a towell over your head. Make sure your histo is well below the saturation point.
Ha is easiest as it shows all the detail easily and you will find sharp focus readily.
