Not with my lenses your not wrong avandonk.
Even using DSLR Focus it was impossible to get nice tight stars. They always seemed to need just that extra tweek of focus. Soon as I switched to a prime lense (50 f/1.8) nice sharp stars. Mind you the lenses I have are nothing fantastic to start with, 80-200, 35-80 and the one that came with the 300D the 28-90.
