Having used both APT and NINA, and since it sounds like you have a little time to do some planning I'd highly recommend at least taking NINA for a quick spin.

Planning sequences and framing, camera control (cooling, etc) is much better, phd2 integration is better, it gives you more control of more equipment. Supports fits and xsif, auto-stretch to review during sequence is better.

The downside is it has been less reliable than APT in the past, but they have just moved out of beta and the latest release seems quite polished now.
