What problems are you having with the straight rods Axle? Is it the control over speed or the accuracy of the tracking due to using straight rods?

With the straight rod design your motor will need to increase in rpm over time to cope with the angular error that occurs. people have done up tables with the calculations for these things online.

But curved rod is much simpler. Just set the rpm and your basically done.
