D'oh!
I've been playing with my PMX for several weeks now. It slews and tracks beautifully but my guiding wasn't that much better than my old EQ6.
Today I worked I had CCD Autopilot guiding at the sidereal rate but the PMX was set to guide at 0.5. So I set them both at 0.5 - what a difference.
Must reread the manual!
