I found the nova fairly easily using the charts[URL="http://www.universetoday.com/122586/new-nova-flares-in-sagittarius-how-to-see-it-in-your-scope/"
At 8:15 AEST it was brighter than 8.8. Using stars 88 and 97 my estimate is mag 8.6.
