and while they are at it get them to adjust for any front/back focus issues so its calibrated to your camera.
diy lens repairs do more damage than good, sticky blades people often open and oil which is just wrong, that ends up gluing them stuck in time. just get it fixed, or replaced. xmas upgrade time?
