Andrew, I use an alt azi mount and an 80mm scope.
You're good for exposures up to 20sec, which is what I take using a dslr with the same setup.
So the 2.56 sec exposures with the Gstar are no problem at all.
DeepSkyStacker takes care of any field rotation.
