New Nikon D90 announced.

Following hot on the heels of Canon's announcement of the 50D, Nikon yesterday announcement yet another new DSLR model, the D90.

What makes this one special is it's ability to capture video, the first DSLR to have the ability, at 24fps HD with sound using any Nikkor lens attached to the camera.

It will be interesting to see how it performs up against the Canons especially for astro work but it does seem that Nikon is giving Canon a run for it's money lately.
Good !
Competition is a healthy thing and the consumer will benefit.

Movie mode will make it handy for those astro situations where one wants to capture footage of an event not just photos.

Nikon D90 Key Features
12.3 megapixel CMOS sensor
ISO 100-6400
HD720p video capture (w/ audio)
Face Detection System
3″ LCD 920,000 pixel resolution
11-point AF
96% viewfinder coverage
HDMI output

Anyway thought I'd share the news.
