Raw video on 5diii, would this work for planetary imaging?

As I understand it, you need a CCD camera to do planetary imaging, or is it still possible with any dslr with video capture? Enlighten me!
Does RAW video change the game between high end astro CCD cameras and DSLR's? I imagine cooling would still be a factor.

I ask as on a long term shopping list, would you opt for a mid level DSLR and a CCD specifically for astro work, or a higher end DSLR if it could do both?
