See if you can pick up a so called "Faulty" post 2006 Meade 0.63x reducer. Meade changed the optical formula around that time which resulted in the reducer being stronger than the Celestron and Original Meade 0.63 reducers.
If you use a DSLR with the standard T-Adapter in front the reduction will be something like 0.45x and there will be severe vignetting and aberations at the corners. As a result you should use a shorter T-Adapter to bring the camera closer to the reducer. This will mean reduction will be less, but vignetting and distortion will be less.
