You might find it easier to image the planets by using video capture instead of a still camera.
These images were taken through my 10" Dob using an old Panasonic Video Camera.
I uploaded the .avi to the computer then stacked them using Registax.
Not the most hi tech approach I know, but I was more than happy with the results.
