I'm pretty sure it was Rod Doig's 24" F3.7 that I had the privilege of spending a few hours with at Wiruna at an SPSP a few years ago and it was an amazing experience. Perfect clear dark skies at 1000m ASL, he let me use the scope by myself for a couple of hours and I had a ball. The views were like B&W versions of many of my images, I could see so much. The spiral structure in galaxies and the flarey extensions around the Dumbell Nebula M27 through an OIII filter were sensational..
